It is a distraction from the boredom of our current affairs. A form of escapism.
Children's bedtime stories are form of escapism. They allow the child to expand their imagination while still surrounded by the ordinary. In a time when circumstances are extraordinary, seeing people in bed sheets doesn't seem so far out of the ordinary.
I understand that since this trend has become more popular it has received backlash. It has been brought to attention that this trend may be offensive to people of colour. This is regarding the white sheets resembling the KKK. I do not intend to offend .I have taken no inspiration from anything relating to the KKK. my main source of aesthtic inspiration being A ' Ghost story ' by casey Affleck and Rooney Mara . Other inspiration came from the artwork on Matt Nathanson's album cover 'show me your fangs' and the instagram account @angeldeane.
